ROYAL CHURCH OF CURTEA DE ARGEȘ
Many pages have been written about the Royal Church of Curtea de Argeș (Biserica Domnească din Curtea de Argeș), but today one of its most interesting aspects is investigated by the GENESIS project. A mixed researchers team struggles to solve through bio-genetical-archeological skills one surprising discovery: the tomb of a royal member of Basarab family. Judging by its symbols, clothing, jewelry genetic analysis, the fascinating history of the Romanian Country (Țara Românescă) reveals one new piece of evidence, further developing myths and fantasy. The tomb has been thoroughly hidden under several layers of earth, sand, stone and lime-stone, the exact thing that, in fact, contributed to its preservation until today. New and interesting hypothesis are born now, not only for kids fascinated by history, but for anyone who explores Romania.
The Royal Church of Saint Nicholas in Curtea de Argeș is one of most representative monuments for old Romanian architecture. It is our recommendation for your first visit, while in town. Please take your time to watch carefully the mural paintings dated from the XIV-th century.
